Is that too much to ask?
Psalm 37:4 says:
Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.
I wonder if this means that if we delight in God, He’ll give us whatever we want in our little human hearts, or that when we delight in God, He puts in our hearts the desires that we SHOULD have in alignment with His will for us, and will thus grant those desires…
At age 5, my heart desired to be an astronaut… Later on that desire changed, and I wanted to be a web developer (slightly more practical for me). Perhaps God helps us along in spiritual maturity and we long for the right kinds of things.
Every now and again I make a silly song. This round features a fantastic fake beard and guitar. There ins some intent behind the song though:
This song was prompted by the fact that we silly humans think we know what we want, but often times this differs from what we need. (Whether its food/clothing/relationships/jobs etc…)
Most of the time we assume that we always become wiser and more mature with age, but sometimes we can get more picky and ridiculous in our want list as time goes by.
